Newcastle resident, Mr I Chundurman is sporting a new set of wheels after successfully choosing the “magic” box at the final draw of Blackrock Casino’s super-charged gaming promotion, Grand Payout.

He was one of 18 semi finalists vying for the big prize, a beautiful Mazda 6 worth R 263,000, at the casino on Sunday the 29 January 2012. Making it through the anxiety-fraught elimination round, and watching ten of the 18 finalists walk away with consolation prizes, Chundurman and the other remaining seven finalists were left to choose one of the eight cases in the hopes of selecting the winning one.

The crowd looked on in anticipation as the eight finalists revealed what was under their cases. Chundurman’s held the picture of the Mazda 6, declaring him as its new owner. The other finalists didn’t go home empty handed. The 2nd runner up won R 2,000 worth of petrol vouchers and a R 2,000 gambling voucher, the 3rd runner up won a R 1,000 petrol voucher and a R 1,000 gambling voucher, and the other five finalists each walked away with a R 1,000 gambling voucher.
